Since he was a child, Giovanni Piemontese has always had a strong passion for design. Fascinated by videogames and by the idea of experiencing immersive stories in magical digital places, Giovanni discovered very soon that "imagining and building worlds" would be his dream.
He graduated at Politecnico di Milano in 2013 in Interior Design. In order to build spaces that merge the physical world with the digital one, he graduated in 2016 in Product Service System Design. It was then that he discovered the concepts and processes behind innovation. During these years, he moved to Shanghai to get a double degree in Innovation Design in 2016. Thanks to the interaction with local companies and professionals, Giovanni discovered new ways of living and interacting with digital products, new customer needs, and new ways of designing.
With a background of multidisciplinary and multicultural knowledge, he co-founded some startups in Milan, attracting the interest from publishers such as Wired and StartupItalia.
At the same time, he began to work with a new emerging startup in his hometown, Manfredonia. Smart Launcher attracted great interest from the public, the press, and key players in the sector, reaching its current number of 60 million downloads. Currently, Giovanni plays a crucial role in designing the entire product system, identity, and the experience that bind together and satisfies millions of daily users. The competitive advantage of Smart Launcher, which lies principally in the revolutionary Home Screen Design, received numerous awards, establishing itself as a leading product in the sector at an international level.
He designed Icon Pack Studio together with the same team, creating a brand new product and a unique experience of its kind. Thanks to the skills collected over time and the high university education, he works as a coach, mentor, speaker and organizes workshops in the area in order to spread the concept of innovation.
The meaning of "building new worlds" as in the videogames has taken a much broader form. Today Giovanni helps the companies he works with to design high-quality products for users on an international scale, pursuing an ideal of beauty that translates into an elegant functional and aesthetic execution process.
